Nine persons attended as follows: BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT (5) STAFF PRESENT (4) Ms. Kelly Dillon (Chair) Sara Trittler, Human Resources Specialist Mr. Rick Derks (Vice-chair) Chief Roger Schroeder Ms. Lisa Turner (Secretary) Lt. Jeff Stieferman Mr. George Minze Jeremy Cover, Assoc. City Counselor Bill Burton BOARD MEMBERS ABSENT (1) Mr. Ray Bledsoe Following greetings, roll call was taken. New Board Member - Mr. William Burton was introduced to the Board and was welcomed by all. Approval of August 6, 2014 minutes It was moved by Derks and seconded by Minze that the minutes for the August 6th meeting be approved. The motion was carried unanimously. New Business: Vacancy for Personnel Board –Due to the unexpected death of Personnel Board member Chris Ricks who will be missed greatly, there is a vacancy on the Board. This will be discussed further at the next meeting. Old Business: Hiring Update – Lt. Stieferman announced that 18 candidates for police officer were interviewed by the initial interview panel; 11 of these candidates have been determined eligible to continue the interviewing process. He also announced that 14 candidates for the communications positions will be interviewed by the initial interview panel the week of August 11th, 2014. JCPD Employee Appreciation Day – The rescheduling of the appreciation day was discussed by the Board due to the very recent death of Chris Ricks, who was active on the board in the planning and preparation of the event. It was moved by Minze and seconded by Ms. Dillon to postpone the JCPD Employee Appreciation Day to a day in Octo ber of this year. The date will be discussed at the next meeting in October. Next meeting date –The next meeting is October 1, 2014. It was moved by Minze and seconded by Derks for adjournment. The meeting was adjourned at 12:33 pm. Respectfully, Lisa Turner
