A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
ADOPTING A REVISED CONTRACTING & PURCHASING POLICY
WHEREAS, the California State Auditor performed an audit on the City's Financial
risks; and
WHEREAS, one of the recommendations was for the City to ensure that it seeks
opportunities to produce goods and services at the best value and amend its municipal
code require/include justification when the City Council uses its supermajority vote
competitive bidding exception; and
WHEREAS, staff has revised the City's contracting & purchasing policy, to ensure
compliance before end of this calendar year; and
WHEREAS, the revised policy supersedes any prior City policy regarding
contracting & purchasing. To the extent any prior Council resolution is in conflict with the
revised policy, it is hereby repealed.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE AND DETERMINE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Lynwood hereby finds and declares
that the foregoing recitals are true and correct, and incorporates them herein as findings
and as a substantive part of this Resolution.
Section 2. That the City Council approves the attached revised Contracting &
Purchasing Policy and directs staff to implement said policy.
Section 3. That the City Council authorize the Mayor to execute the Resolution
for and on behalf of the City of Lynwood.
Section 4. This Resolution shall take full force and effect immediately upon
adoption by the City Council.
Section 5. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this City Council
Resolution.
