Budget Appropriatioi
Mary Merchanthouse, City Clerk; Marge Sweet, Controller
I am asking Council to approve an appropriation of
Revenue Sharing money in the amount of $44,150.
This amount is the 16% local match to the Section 18
Operating Grant under which Public Transit is funded.
If you will recall, when Council approved our budget
last year and passed a resolution authorizing the City
to apply for funding, it was stated at that time that
the estimated local match would be $44,150.
In order to uphold the City's obligation according to
the Grant agreement, this money must be appropriated.
If the City should fail to appropriate the local match,
we would then be faced with termination of the grant
contract, and the ultimate responsibility of repaying
all federal and state monies received during the 1986
calendar year.
If you should have any questions, please contact either
myself or Marge Sweet.
Thank you.
