The Council of the Village of Medina met in regular session Tuesday
evening, March 7, 1967 at 8:10 P. M.

All members present.
Minutes of the previoud meeting of February 7, 1967 read, Motion with regard
to plowing Priscilla Arens' driveway amended by adding the words "as long as
she is clerk". Moved by Harold Winterhalter that the minutes be approved as
amended.
Seconded by Raymond Bosch.
Motion carried.
Minutes of special meeting of February 21, 1967 read. Moved by Arthur Theis
that the minutes begpproved as read.
Seconded by Rayburn Anderson.
Motion carried.
Minutes of Planning Commission meeting of February 20, 1967 read.
Bids for rental of motor grader gpened. Bid received from Leo Lduer at $9.00
per hour with a 1947 caterpiller. Moved by Rayburn Anderson to accept the
bid of Leo Leuer at $9.00 per hour.
Seconded by Harold Winterhalter.
Motion carried.
Bruce Morton of hakee Telephone Company appeared with regard to obtaining
a permit to build an addition to their building in Hamel. Moved by Harold
Winterhalter that a building permit be granted to Lakedale Telephone Company
for an addition to their building as proposed on their sketch.
Seconded by Raymond Bosch.
Motion carried.
Mike Tryba appeared with regard to his car which was moved during snow re-
moval. He claimethat his car was damaged when moved. He was advised to
contact our insurance company and also contact the court with regard to his
ticket.
Application for cigarette license by Gregory Dubay for Medina Mileage submitted.
Moved by Raymond Bosch to grant Gregory Dubay of Medina Mileage a license to
sell cigarettes for 1967.
Seconded by Arthur Theis.
Motion carried.
Letter read from Hennepin County Land Department with regard to tax -forfeited
lands in Village. Moved by Harold Winterhalter for the adoption of a resolution
giving the County the authority to sell the tax forfeited land designated as
List "641C" in the Village of Medina.
Seconded by Arthur Theis.
Members polled as follows: Wayne Neddermeyer voted "no",
Harold Winterhalter voted "no", Raymond Bosch voted "no",
Rayburn L. Anderson voted "no", and Arthur Theis voted "no". -
which is the full membership of the Council.
Appointment of Planning Commission members whose terms expire March 1, 1967.
Moved by Rayburn Anderson to re -appoint Ann Dorweiler and Robert Roehl for a
three year term on the Planning Commission.
Seconded by Arthur Theis.
Motion carried.
Moved by Raymond Bosch to adopt the resolution with regard to improvement of
Highway #12 where passing through the Village of Medina.
Seconded by Harold Winterhalter.
Motion carried, - A11 members voted "yes".
No action taken on the matter of theft and vandalism insurance on property in
police oar and truck as the amount of premium is too high to warrant the
carrying of such insurance.
Clerk was instructed to return the deposit check to Velie Mo:ors.
Arthur Theis to contact Mr. Mills with regard to the Lake Improvement Fund
for Lake Independence and Holy Name Lake. Moved by Raymond Bose to authorize
Village Engineer to prepare a plan for the improvement of Lake Independence
and Holy Name Lake.
Seconded by Harold Winterhalter.
Motion carried.
Moved by Rayburn Anderson that we make a contribution of $150.00 to the North
Shore Community Council for 1967.
Seconded by Harold Winterhalter.
Motion carried.
Moved by Raymond Bosch that we make a contribution of $300.00 to the Hamel
Athletic Association for 1967.
Seconded by Arthur Theis.

Moved by Rayburn Anderson to contribute $100.00 to the Hamel Library.
Seconded by Arthur Theis.
Motion carried.
Letter re with regard to Conference for Municipal officers to be held !parch
21 through March 23.
Letter re& with regard to the Dineen property from C. W. Phillips.
Letter read from Mrs. Fritz inviting the Council to the Henn. County Relief
meeting on March 16th.
Auditor's report studied. Moved by Harold Winterhalter that we accept the
report and comply with the recommendations set forth.
Seconded by Rayburn Anderson.
Motion carried.
Moved by Arthur Theis that we pay the bills as follows: Payroll in the amount
of $2175.82 and order checks in the amount of $2377.02.
Seconded by Rayburn Anderson.
