HomeMy Public PortalAbout2022.277 (10-18-22)RESOLUTION NO. 2022.277 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH MUNITEMPS TO PROVIDE TEMPORARY STAFFING SERVICES AND APPROVING AN APPROPRIATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $100,000 FROM THE UNASSIGNED GENERAL FUND WHEREAS, in January 2022, the City entered into an agreement with MuniTemps under the City Manager's Purchasing Authority ($25,000), to provide temporary staffing services to the City Clerk's Office; and WHEREAS, staff is seeking Council's approval to approve an agreement to through October 31, 2023 and to approve an appropriation in the amount of $100,000 to cover costs of pending invoices and invoices through the term of the agreement; and WHEREAS, due to MuniTemps' extensive knowledge and experience working with the City and its experience providing temporary staffing services to the City Clerk's Office, City staff requests the City Council to make the necessary findings to exercise its authority to procure services for the City pursuant to Section 6-3.13 (a)(3) of the Lynwood Municipal Code. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AND DETERMINE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The City Council of the City of Lynwood hereby finds and declares that the foregoing recitals are true and correct, and incorporates them herein as findings and as a substantive part of this Resolution. Section 2. Per Section 6-3.13.3 of the Lynwood Municipal Code, the Lynwood City Council finds, by this Resolution adopted by not less than four -fifths (4/5) of its members, that the acquisition of MuniTemps' services may be more economically and efficiently effected through the use of an alternate procedure due to MuniTemps' extensive knowledge and experience working with the City and its experience providing temporary staffing services to the City Clerk's Office. Section 3. The City Council authorizes the City Manager to enter into an agreement with MuniTemps through October 31, 2023 and to approve an appropriation • from the unassigned general fund in the amount of $100,000 to cover the cost of pending invoices and for the cost of services through the end of the agreement, approved as to form by the City Attorney. Section 4. The City Council authorizes the Mayor to execute the agreement for and on behalf of the City of Lynwood. The Mayor is also authorized to execute this Resolution. 1 Section 5. adoption.
