A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN FIESTA TAXI, INC, AND THE
CITY OF LYNWOOD FOR TRANSPORTATION SERVICES
WHEREAS, Fiesta Taxi serves as the current transportation service provider for
the City; and
WHEREAS, the initial three (3) year term agreement with Fiesta Taxi and the City
expired on December 17, 2021; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to continue to provide transportation services
to the city's Dial -a -Ride program; and
WHEREAS, the City and Fiesta Taxi agree to a new contract to be effective from
December 17, 2021 through December 17, 2022 with the terms and conditions of the
original contract; and
WHEREAS, Section 6-3.13.3 of the Lynwood Municipal Code authorizes the City
Council, by resolution adopted by not less than four -fifths (4/5) of its members, to acquire
services via an alternative procedure if the alternative procedure secures the services
more economically and efficiently than an RFP process.
WHEREAS, funds for transportation services are available for fiscal year
2022/2023 in the Transportation Fund 2401.60.725.62015.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES HEREBY FIND, ORDER,
AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council for the City of Lynwood finds and declares that the
foregoing recitals are true and correct, and incorporates said recitals fully into this
Resolution as substantive findings.
Section 2. Per Section 6-3.13.3 of the Lynwood Municipal Code, the Lynwood
City Council finds, by this Resolution adopted by not less than four -fifths (4/5) of its
members, that the acquisition of Fiesta Taxi's transportation services may be more
economically and efficiently effected through the use of an alternate procedure due to
Fiesta Taxi's extensive knowledge and experience with the city and its residents
transportation needs.
Section 3. That the City Council approve an agreement with Fiesta Taxi for
transportation services effective December 17, 2021 through December 17, 2022 with the
option to renew the contract for one additional year, in a form approved by the City
Attorney. This agreement shall be consistent with the terms and conditions of the original
agreement with Fiesta Taxi.

Section 4. That the Mayor is authorized to execute the agreement with Fiesta
Taxi, Inc. for and on behalf of the City of Lynwood. The Mayor is further authorized to
execute this Resolution.
Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
Section 6. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this City Council
Resolution.
