AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AMENDED ORDINANCE NO. 53-1986 (1987 SALARY ORDINANCE FOR
THE CITY OF RICHMOND,. INDIANA FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 1987 AND
ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1987).
WHEREAS, the position of Chief of Fire Prevention was newly established to begin
in 1987; and,
WHEREAS, the position of Chief_ of Fire Prevention was originally created to
assist with enforcement of the City df Richmond Building and,.Fire
Codes; and,
WHEREAS, since the position of Chief of Fire Prevention was originally established
it has been shown that additional responsibilities must be performed
to implement and carry -out a program of on -going inspections to maintain
all public buildings to code; and,
WHEREAS, it is necessary to upgrade the position of Chief of Fire Prevention
to include supervisory and planning responsibilities.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana;
SECTION 1. That for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 1987 and ending
December 31, 1987 that the appointed offices and employees of
the City of Richmond, Indiana shall receive the following
salaries for their positions:
FIRE DEPARTMENT
Chief of Fire Prevention $26,000.00
