Eilderts moved to approve the minutes of the April regular meeting with the following correction: Meyer seconded the motion to adjourn the meeting. Meyer seconded the motion. All ayes, carried. Werkman moved to approve the Treasurer’s Report for April. Hippen seconded the motion. All ayes, carried. Eilderts moved to approve the following bills for payment. Meyer seconded the motion. No one was present for Public Forum. Karen Mennenga, Library Director, presented the Library Report. Nathan Vogel presented the public works report. The council reviewed seal coating bids. The council requested further information. The final decision will be tabled until the June meeting. Van Heiden moved to approve the purchase of 2 flow meters for an estimated cost of $10,000 from Grayline. Meyer seconded the motion. All ayes, carried. Greg Winger, Fire Chief, presented the Fire Department report. Werkman moved to not sell the used tires from the grass fire rig. The tires can be used on the Public Works pickup. Hippen seconded the motion. All ayes, carried. Chase Babcock, Wellsburg Fire Association, updated the Council on the installation of the new tank fill station. All work has been completed. The City Clerk will look into selling the old equipment. Chase also requested a budget figure for the purchase of a used tanker/pumper. The City Council agreed on a cap of $150,000.00. Wendy Lage presented the Clerk’s report. Eilderts moved to approve the Terry Babcock’s quote for the replacement of an air conditioner at the Wellsburg Memorial Building. Total cost to be $4,490.00. Hippen seconded the motion. All ayes, carried. Angela Koch, Pool Manger, presented the pool report. She will be scheduling a sign up event either May 20th or the 21st. The pool opening date will be June 1st. Werkman moved to approve the FY 2017 Sheriff’s Contract. Meyer seconded the motion. All ayes, carried. Eilderts moved to set June 6th as the public hearing date to approve Plans and Specs for the Public Works Facility and to accept bids for the project. Van Heiden seconded the motion. All ayes, carried. After due consideration and discussion, Eilderts introduced the following resolution, a resolution approving bond purchase agreement, providing for the issuance of general obligation public works building bonds, series 2016 and providing for the levy of taxes to pay the same and moved it adoption, seconded by Council Member Werkman. The Mayor put the question upon the adoption of said resolution, and the roll being called, the following Council Members voted: ayes, Meyer, Eilderts, Hippen, Werkman and Van Heiden. Nays, none.
