Special Election
September 13, 1976
A Special Called Meeting of Savannah Beach City Council
was held in the Courncilroom of Savannah Beach City Hall following
the Special Election for the purpose of swearing in Councilman
Elect Nick C. Alexander.
Mr. Gordon Smith, Chairman of the Chatham County Board of
Elections read the following Certification of the Results of
the election:
CERTIFICATION OF THE RESULTS OF THE SPECIAL ELECTION 9/13/76
Following the reading of the Certification, City Attorney
Lance Smith read a Resolution accepting the results of the
Election as read by Mr. Smith. The Resolution read as follows:
RESOLUTION
Folloiwng the reading of the Resolution, Councilman Fahey
moved that. the Resolution accepting the results be adopted. The
was seconded by Councilman de Borde and unanimously carried.
At this time Councilman Elect Nick C. Alexander was sworn
into office by Judge Lance Smith.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned
to the next Regular or Special Called Meeting.

SAVANNAH BEACH, TYBEE ISLAND,
CHATHAM COUNTY, GEORGIA:
We, the undersigned, who were duly appointed as Election
Superintendent and as Managers of the Special Election for
Councilman of the City of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, by
Resolutions adopted by the Mayor and Councilmen at a Regular
Meeting of Savannah Beach City Council on August 4, 1976, and
who have conducted said Special Election held on September 13,
1976, in accordance with the provisions of the Charter and
applicable Acts incorporating the City of Savannah Beach, Tybee
Island, and in accordance with the provisions of the Georgia
Municipal Election Code and the laws of the State of Georgia
applicable thereto, do hereby certify that said Special Election
was held on September 13, 1976, in accordance with such laws,
and that the following candidates received the number of votes
set forth opposite their names for said office in such election:

A RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Election Superintendents and Managers duly
named by a Resolution passed by the Mayor and Councilmen of the
City of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, in council duly assembled
at Regular Council Meeting held on August 4, 1976, to conduct
the election just concluded and held on the 13th day of September,
1976, at Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, Georgia, for the purpose
of electing a Councilman to hold office until the first Monday
in July, 1978, or until his successor has been duly elected and
qualified, have made the consolidated returns and results of
such election by Resolution to the Mayor and Councilmen calling
said election, which return consolidation was done in the presence
and together with the Election Superintendents and several
managers; and
WHEREAS, it appears that Nick C. Alexander
received the highest number of votes for the office of Councilman
of the City of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Councilmen
of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, in council duly assembled and
it is hereby resolved by the authority of the same, that the
results of said election be, and the same are hereby declared
as electing:
NICK C. ALEXANDER as Councilman
of the City of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, to hold office
until the first Monday in July, 1978, or until his successor
is elected and duly qualified; said results appearing from the
returns of the Election Superintendents and said Election Managers,
which said returns are hereby adopted by the Mayor and Councilmen
of the City of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, and officially made
a part of this resolution and the Minutes of said Council meeting.
THIS 13th day of September, 1976.
