AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CiiAYTER 154 OF THE Mi3NICIPAL CODE, BEINC
ORDINANCE NO. 2325-1968, COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE
OF THE CITY OY RICHMOND, INDIANA, PR.OVID:LNG FOR THE REZONING OF
PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE 600 BLOCK OF NORTH 12TH STREET FROM R-3
ONE -TO -EIGHT F'LMILY RESIDENCE DISTRICT TO C-2 CbMMERCTAL DISTRICT.
WHEREAS, the "Zoning Map which is -part of the Ordinance No. 2325-
1968 designates and describes as R-3 One -to -Eight Family
Residence District certain property located in the 600
Block of North 12th Street; and,
WHEREAS, it is the intend and purpose hereof to change the zoning
classification of said property from R-3 One -to -Eight
Family Resident District to C-2 Commercial District; and,
WHEREAS, a study of this Ordinance was conducted by the Richmond
City Plan Commission the w�.Frnp(day of. �g��= ,
1.985, at which time remonstrances were h rd�from 11
parties interested in or affected by this Ordinance; and,
WF EREAS, the vote of the Richmond City Plan Commission was 8
to O in favor of/' recommending the
passage of Ordinance No. 4-1.985.
K014 THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of
Richmond, Indiana, as follows:
SECTION 1. That the zoning classification of the property described
below, and the same is hereby changed to C-2 Commercial Dis-
trict, and that said property be regulated in accordance with
the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Richmond, Indiana, and all
amendments thereto.
} Lots 11 2, 3, 11, 12, 13 and 14 in
Hugh Moffitt's Addition to the City
of Richmond, Indiana
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall be in Lull force and effect from and
after its passage and approval as by law required.

Dear Mr. Williams, Members of Common Council and
Mrs. Merchanthouse:
The Richmond City Plan Commission conducted a public hearing
on Tuesday, January 22, 1985, on the petition of William
Foston II, Rita Calhoun and Gene Blackstone, owners; Robert
Bowen, Agent, requesting to rezone all of the property lo-
cated on the east side of North 12th Street in the 600
Block from R-3 One -to -Eight Family Residence District to
C-2 Commercial District;
Thirteen (13) notices of public hearing were sent to surround-
ing property owners with three (3) returned in favor of the
request.
During the public hearing, no one spoke in opposition to the
request.
The Plan Commission voted eight (8) to zero (0) to recommend
that Ordinance No. 4-1985 be adopted.
