Police Personnel Board
Minutes—October 6, 2014
The meeting was called to order at 12:03pm.
Nine persons attended as follows:

Ms. Lisa Turner (Secretary) Lt. Jeff Stieferman
Mr. George Minze Jeremy Cover, Assoc. City Counselor
Bill Burton
Mr. Ray Bledsoe
Following greetings, roll call was taken.
Approval of September 4, 2014 minutes
It was moved by Derks and seconded by Minze that the minutes for the September 4th meeting be approved. The
motion was carried unanimously.
Old Business:
Hiring Update – Lt. Stieferman announced that the background investigations and initial interviews have been
completed for the police officer and communications positions. There are ten candidates for police officer that are
moving to the next stage of the hiring process as well as five candidates for the communications positions.
The final results of the interview process should be available at the next Board meeting.
There will be another hiring process next year in late January or early February.
JCPD Employee Appreciation Day- Mr. Derks announced that the appreciation day has been rescheduled for October
15th, 2014.
New Business:
Signatory Authority for Bank Account – Ms. Dillon announced that Chris Ricks, who recently passed away, was the only
signer for the First Financial Bank account used by the Board that is designated for donations and miscellaneous
expenses incurred relating to appreciation day. First Financial bank has requested that the minutes from our meeting
be submitted to them in order to change the authorized signers for this account. It was discussed by the board to have
two signers authorized instead of one and that it should be the Chair and Vice Chair. It was moved by Mr. Bledsoe and
seconded by Minze to make this change. The motion was carried unanimously.
Next meeting date –The next meeting is November 6, 2014.
It was moved by Turner and seconded by Minze for adjournment. The meeting was adjourned at 12:35 pm.
