Motion by James, second by Nielsen to approve the minutes of the previous meeting. All ayes, carried. Motion by Nielsen, second by Van Heiden to approve the Treasurer’s report for April. All ayes, carried. Motion by Lindaman second by Meints to approve the following bills for payment. All ayes, carried. The City will be increasing the cost of a family pass to $75.00 for the 2004 pool season. We will also have a punch card available. Pool hours will be 1:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m., with a family swim time scheduled from 5:00 p.m.-6:30 p.m. Motion by Nielsen second by Van Heiden to leave vacation as set. All ayes, carried. Motion by Lindaman second by Van Heiden to increase carry over sick leave to 42 days for full time employees. All ayes, carried. Kathy Akkerman and Greg Riebkes presented the Library Report. There was also discussion of the Library building project. Motion by Lindaman second by Van Heiden to pledge support in the amount of $100,000.00 toward the renovation of the existing building on Adams St. The City Council feels it is vital to the community to improve the quality of existing buildings in the business district. All ayes, carried. Motion by James second by Nielsen to approve the Sheriff’s contract for FY 2005. All ayes, carried. Motion by Meints second by James to replace three furnaces and one air conditioner in the Memorial Building. Work to be done by Terry Babcock at the cost of $7441.45. All ayes, carried. Motion by Lindaman second by Van Heiden to purchase an early warning system from Radio Communications. Cost to be $13,700.04. All ayes, carried. Motion to adjourn Lindaman second by Van Heiden.
