A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS FOR THE
URBAN COMMUNITY DROUGHT RELIEF GRANT BY HARRIS &
ASSOCIATES
WHEREAS, Gateway Water Management Authority (GWMA) proposes to
implement the GWMA Regional Groundwater Resilience Project; and
WHEREAS, Gateway Water Management Authority has the legal authority and is
authorized to enter into a funding agreement with the State of California; and
WHEREAS, Gateway Water Management Authority intends to apply for grant
funding from the California Department of Water Resources for the GWMA Regional Well
Resilience Project;
WHEREAS, Lynwood is one of six -member cities that have been approved by the
GWMA Board to submit the UCDR grant application for wells/well treatment
design/planning projects; and
WHEREAS, the City has limited capital funds and pursuing grant funding to assist
the City in covering some of its rehabilitation and treatment costs associated will provide
a benefit for long term water quality solutions.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council approves authorize the Gateway Water
Management Authority to apply for the Urban Community Drought Relief Grant.
Section 2. That the City Council authorizes the City Attorney to negotiate the final
form of the Agreement.
Section 3. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
Section 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
