HomeMy Public PortalAbout2022.309 (12-20-22)RESOLUTION NO. 2022.309 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD ACCEPTING THE CIP PRIORITY 2 STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT (PHASE 2A) FY 2022-2023 CHANGE ORDER APPROVAL. WHEREAS, the City Council adopted the City's Biennial Budget for Fiscal Year 2021-22 (FY22) and Fiscal Year 2022-23 (FY23) which included a Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Budget for two years. For the FY22, the City Council approved the use of HIP revenues for the Priority 2 Streets Project (CIP 4011.68.104) (Project).; and WHEREAS, the Priority 2 Phase 2 A (Project) of the construction of new ADA compliant curb ramps where needed and will rehabilitate, gutters, sidewalks, driveway approaches and pavement for the city streets that are in need of repairs. Striping will also be rehabilitated to enhance vehicular and pedestrian safety where needed. New signage will be installed, and utility covers adjusted. Outdated curbs at the intersections will be updated to handicapped ramps.; and WHEREAS, the current segments are 1.) Alma Avenue from Ruth Avenue to Mallison Avenue; 2.) Alma Avenue from Mallison Avenue to Otis Street; 3.) Los Flores Boulevard from Atlantic Avenue to Virginia Avenue; 4.) Los Flores Boulevard from Virginia Avenue to Pope Avenue.; 5.) Los Flores Boulevard from Pope Avenue to Duncan Avenue; 6.) Los Flores Boulevard from Santa Fe Avenue to Penn Street; 7.) Los Flores Boulevard from Penn Street to Franklin Street; 8.) Los Flores Boulevard from Franklin Street to Bellinger Street; 9.) Los Flores Boulevard from Long Beach Boulevard to California Avenue; 10.) Los Flores Boulevard from California Avenue to Imperial Highway; 11.) San Luis Avenue from Abbott Road to Alma Avenue; 12.) San Luis Avenue from Alma Avenue to Norton Avenue; 13.) San Miguel Avenue from Abbott Road to Norton Avenue.; and WHEREAS, the contractor requested approval for additional change order in amount of $351,400.00 for the addition of eight (8) street segments that were removed from the Slurry Seal Phase 2 scope of work.; and WHEREAS, the additional segments are 1.) Bellinger Street from Lynwood Road to Butler Avenue; 2.) Carlin Avenue from Alpine Avenue to Oak St; 3.) Carlin Avenue from Oak Street to Long Beach Boulevard; 4.) Carlin Avenue from Castle Gate Avenue to Stoneacre Avenue; 5.) El Segundo Boulevard from Santa Fe Avenue to Peach Avenue; 6.) El Segundo Avenue from Peach Avenue to Alpine Avenue; 7.) Magnolia Avenue from Alpine Avenue to Long Beach Boulevard; 8.) Oak Street from Euclid Avenue to Orchard Avenue.; and WHEREAS, with the credit of $56,156.10 issued from Pavement Coatings Co., for the removed Slurry Seal Phase 2 street segments, the city will need additional appropriation in the amount of $418,843.90 from 2019 Lease Revenue Bond for the added segments requiring grind and overlay. 1 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Lynwood approves the increase of the project funding of $418,843.90 for Priority 2 Street Improvement Project (Phase 2A). Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Lynwood approve an additional allocation of $418,843.90 from 2019 Lease Revenue Bond funding to Priority 2 Street Improvement Project (Phase 2A) funding. Section 3. That the project budget be increased from $1,543,000.00 to $2,018,000.00. Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. Section 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution and hereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
