A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AUTHORIZING THE APPROVAL OF AMENDMENTS TO VARIOUS CITY
CONTRACTS EXTENDING TERMS OF THE AGREEMENTS
WHEREAS, in October 2022, the City adopted ordinances amending its
purchasing and professional services procurement procedures and adopted a new
contracting & purchasing policy. The amended ordinances became effective 30 days
thereafter; and
WHEREAS, due to time constraints, the effective date of the new contracting &
purchasing policy, and staff's inability to efficiently and effectively go through request for
proposal processes, staff is requesting a short-term extension (6 to 12 months) of various
city contracts; and
WHEREAS, the contracts listed below reflects those that require immediate
attention to be extended for the timeframe indicated.
• Willdan - 1 year extension.
• Transtech - 1 year extension.
• SWA - 1 year extension.
• Infrastructure Engineers - 1 year extension
• SAFNA - 1 year extension.
• The Kilkenny Group - Extension through 6/30/2023.
• dSantana - 1 year extension.
• Northstar Landcare - 1 year extension.
• Legislative Advocacy Group - 1 year extension.
WHEREAS, the City's Finance & Administration Department will revisit the
contracting & purchasing policy to recommend making adequate updates to present to
Council for consideration by the end of this current fiscal year, June 30, 2023.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE AND DETERMINE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Lynwood hereby finds and declares
that the foregoing recitals are true and correct, and incorporates them herein as findings
and as a substantive part of this Resolution.
Section 2. The City Council approves the amendment of the City contracts listed
above in this Resolution, extending the terms of the agreements as specified and
authorizes the City Manager to execute said amendments in forms approved by the City
Attorney.
Section 3. Authorize the Mayor to execute the Resolution for and on behalf of
the City of Lynwood.
Section 4. This Resolution shall take full force and effect immediately upon
adoption by the City Council.
Section 5. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this City Council
Resolution.
