CALL TO ORDER Jenny Ruemmele called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm. Members present were Brigit Wiking, Nathan Stewart, Jenny Ruemmele and Carl Barrett. Jim Clarke and Shawn Treasure were absent. II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES No minutes to approve III. INTRODUCTION OF GUEST Joe Standar IV. OLD BUSINESS RECREATION a.) Website Nathan Stewart asked to add an article in the Star News about the new website. PARKS a.) Legacy Park — remodel Parks and Recreation Director gave a quick update on the remodel of the new park. V. NEW BUSINESS RECREATION a.) Recreation Programs — Recreation Supervisor (Joe Standar) Joe Standar, Recreation Supervisor updated Committee about the new website, receiving a grant for new equipment, winter programs that will be starting shortly, and the need for gym facilities. b.) Advisory Members term of service completed Nathan Stewart December 2009 Jenny Ruemmele October 2009 c.) Grants — Carol Coyle presenting Carol Coyle presented a grant writing opportunity through Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation for a restroom in the boat trailer parking area north of Legacy Park. Mrs. Coyle additionally discussed the Recreational Trails program for the Deinhard pathway or the Samson Trail pathway to be paved and also the Lick Creek Davis intersection reconstruction and the Land and Water application for purchasing the 5 acres owned by the USFS across from the Smokejumper base at Riverfront Park. The committee agreed to support each of the projects. Brigit Wiking agreed to write a letter on behalf of the committee to support the projects. Nathan Stewart made the motion that the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee supports these projects and the committee will provide letters of support for each. Brigit Wiking seconded the motion, all were in favor. Nathan Stewart asked staff to send him the parking layout of the boat trailer parking lot. PARKS a.) Projects — Brown Park Beach, Scoreboard, Downtown Holiday Lights Staff is working on small beach project located at Brown Park. Grading and base material has been completed. Sand and liner for the project will be completed in mid spring. The scoreboard has been installed at Fairway Park and staff is waiting on the electrician to complete his work. Holiday lights are up and running. VI. SET NEXT MEETING AND AGENDA December 10th, 2008, 6 p.m. located at Legion Hall The City of McCall's Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee meetings are held open to the public and handicapped accessible.
