Minutes of the Joint Committee of the Whole Workshop of the President and the Board of Trustees and Historic Preservation Commission Held on May 22,2017 At Village Hall Mayor Collins called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Board Present: Mayor Collins, Trustee Lamb, Trustee Larson, Trustee Newton, Trustee Wojowski, and Trustee Bonuchi. Board Absent: Trustee O'Rourke. Historic Preservation Commission Present: Commissioner Bortel, Commissioner Barvian, Commissioner Hendricksen, Commissioner Olsen, and Commissioner Schmidt. Historic Preservation Commission Absent: Commissioner Derrick, Commissioner Rapp, Commissioner Lucas, and Commissioner Hagen. Others present: Brian Murphy,Administrator; Allen Persons, Public Works Director; and Jon Proulx,Planning Director. There were approximately 10 persons in the audience. Trustee Lamb moved to approve the Minutes of the Committee of the Whole Workshop held on April 10, 2017. Second by Trustee Newton. Voice Vote. All in favor, 0 opposed. Motion carried. PRESIDENTIAL COMMENTS Mayor Collins congratulated Trustee Wojowski on graduating law school. TRUSTEE COMMENTS No Comments. PUBLIC COMMENTS Mr. Robert Ziller expressed concern regarding the Pedestrian Bridge. WORKSHOP #1 COMED SMART METER PROGRAM Mr. Jeff Hettrick, External Affairs Manager for ComEd, introduced Mr. Mike McMahon, Vice President for ComEd. Mr. McMahon gave a presentation regarding ComEd's Smart Meter Program. Mr. McMahon highlighted key benefits, installation process, Peak Time Savings program, and hourly pricing. Mr. McMahon stated that installation will begin in the Village in July by ComEd employees that will be clearly identified and will have a badge. Mr. McMahon pointed out that residents will receive several mailings from ComEd regarding the program. For more information, please visit www.comed.com/smartenergy. #2 HISTORIC PRESERVATION PRESENTATION Chairman Bortel introduced the Historic Preservation Commissioners that were present and presented awards to the property owners of 14927 S. Bartlett, 14924 S. Center, and 15106 S. Fox River. Mr. Bortel then gave a presentation highlighting the East Historic District,the Downtown Historic District, landmarked properties, and tax credits available. Mr. Bortel pointed out that the Village's Downtown Historic District is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Mayor Collins thanked Mr. Bortel for the presentation and read the reminders. Trustee Lamb moved to adjourn. Second by Trustee Bonuchi. Voice Vote. All in favor, 0 opposed. Motion carried.
