Advisory Committees
re: Meetings with City Council
Dear (committee chair):
In an effort to facilitate communication between the City Council and the Advisory Committees the City
Council would like each Committee to present an annual report during a Council Meeting. The report would
highlight your committee's work over that previous year and identify the projects you are working on for the
coming year. The format of the presentation is up to the committee, but should include the following aspects:
Names and tenures of the committee members, to include position on the committee
Major projects or issues faced in the preceding year (ultimately this will be since the last presentation)
Major projects or issues currently being worked or anticipated over the coming year
Level of support from the City Staff assigned to the Committee
Requests for direction from Council to focus the Committee
I would anticipate the Council will take this as an opportunity to validate the direction the Committee is taking
and assign specific tasks, if any, for the coming year. Listed below is a tentative schedule for the presentations,
which will normally be held the first Council meeting of each month. The tentative date for the committee
presentation is as follows:
\lcCall Improvement Committee
Library Board
Airport Advisory Committee
Golf Advisory Committee
Parks Advisory Committee
Recreation Advisory Committee
Transportation Advisory Committee
Urban Renewal Agency
Tree Committee
Historic Preservation Committee

September 12, 2002
October 10, 2002

Please contact me if the scheduled month does not work well for your committee and we will adjust the
schedule. If you can think of anything we should add to the presentations to make them better, please share
that as well. Thank you for your continued work on behalf of our community!
