Public Comment: No Public Comment Received, Kara Jeffus, and Ray Schmitz in attendance. Approve Minutes for June 14, 2023, Meeting: Meeting called to order by Todd McKenna, Minutes approved. Eric's Report: Should be done laying sod by the end of the week. Intend to play the new tee boxes 10 days from now for the Amateur, including practice rounds. More trucks of sod are due to arrive tomorrow. Fully staffed. Using some excess sod to make patches around the course. Will top dress and drop the mowing height down. Bizarre irrigation issues, miscommunication between the computer and what's actually happening on the ground. Did find and repair a sprinkler head on #7 Birch that hadn't been working for a year. Will Smith will mill the logs he has at his house for the bathrooms, even though he is officially retired. David's Report: Super busy the 4th of July, the staff is doing a great job. Stakking levels are still good, although expect to lose college and high school students. A lot of shenanigans happening evenings after 8PM by non-playing public using the course as a playground. Budget was provided for year-to-date, nothing alarming. Though tough to compare to years past as the course was managed differently. The course is trending slightly under budget, . June was tough due to the weather, opening the extra course has helped. Cart revenue is great and we have Next Meeting: August 9, 2023, 5:00 PM Topic: TBD Adjournment: Meeting adjourned at 6:00. 111 /id( Todd McKenna, Vice Chair Eric McCormick, Superintendent nearly paid the yearly lease rate. David feels we are losing money on private carts due to many the "hop" in with a private cart without paying a trail fee. Currently we are under budget on payroll, partly due to the fact that David does not have an assistant hired yet. Monthly Topic: Review Five -Year Plan - Capital plan hoping to get out the bids to complete the Aspen Tee Boxes. Need a new roof on the club including insulating all the attic space. Plan to have asphalt composition shingles to prevent snow shed on the decks. No bids on the new roof. The lift station needs to be rebuilt this year! Tim and Nick Swanson are working on an estimate for Eric to add to the budget. Also, plan to build the new bathrooms out on the course. Not enough funding is available for all the projects so some will need to be pushed out to 2025. Zipper grinder is scheduled to be here on the 18th to grind a cart path as a demonstration to prepare paths for redoing. Rezoning is being worked on by community development. Still need to schedule a neighborhood meeting. Old Business: Review Superintendent's annual budget and work plans: City council is planning to raise payroll by 5%, which will likely mean an increase in fees of 5% for next year. Two leases for equipment are expiring, thus the new leases for the equipment will increase and will come out of revenue; this is approximately $80,000 more over past years. We committed a year ago for the toro lease and got the price locked. The question is whether the equipment will be manufactured in time for use next season. Rules and Regulations: Kids under the age of 5 are not allowed on the course. The rule is not new, but we are now enforcing it. Pets are not allowed on the course. Review Project List: Update on Birch Tee construction New Business: Golf Rates Recommendation - City Council will raise green fees, lockers, trail fees, season pass fees, and tournament fees 5%. Cart and range fees will remain the same. Motion made and approved. Suzanne brought a question from the public that asked about why first tee times are at 8AM or later. David responds that this is due to golf course maintenance needs which cannot start before 6AM due to neighborhood regulations. The course tried 7:30 for the last two weeks which caused maintenance to get behind.
