THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, FEBRUARY 6, 2014
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5:00 P.M., Thursday,
February 6, 2014, in the Council Chambers at the Municipal Building, 50 North 5th Street, Richmond,
Indiana.
President Robinson called the meeting to order and the following business was conducted:
ROLL CALL
Present were: Vicki Robinson and Tony Foster. Absent was Dian Lawson.
Also in attendance were Kim Vessels, Assistant City Attorney; Karen Chasteen, City Clerk; Sharon
Palmer, Grant Administrator; Walt Chidester, City Attorney; Valerie Shafer Wayne County Economic
Development Corporation; Sue Roberson, Human Resources; and, Media.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Mr. Foster moved to approve the minutes for the January 30, 2014 meeting with a second by Ms.
Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried.
CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT
Mr. Foster moved to approve the claims for payment for February 7, 2014 in the amount of One Million
Three Hundred Three Thousand Seven Hundred Twenty Four Dollars and Seventy Cents
($1,303,724.70), supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried.
REQUESTS - None
BID OPENINGS
• The following bids were received for the renovation of 1400 & 1500 Industries Road:

2. Maxwell Construction (Greendale, IN) -

All bids were referred to the Department of Metropolitan Development for due diligence.

Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion
carried.
• CONTRACT NO. 17 -2014 — BUCKLAND & ASSOCIATES (Human Resources)
Appraisal services for various buildings owned by the City of Richmond and the Richmond
Sanitary District
This Contract replaces Contract No. 134 -2013 which was not executed.
Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion
carried.

LEASE — CITY OF RICHMOND & ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION OF
WAYNE COUNTY, INDIANA
Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the
motion carried.
SUBLEASE — ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION OF WAYNE COUNTY,
INDIANA & STRIDE RIDE CORPORATION
Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the
motion carried.

MISCELLANEOUS
The request to the City of Richmond to rename Williamsburg Pike to Tom Raper Way will be considered
on February 13, 2014 at the meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety. This meeting will take
place at 5:00 pm in the Council Chambers on the third floor of the Municipal Building, 50 North 5th Street,
Richmond, Indiana.

After a motion was duly made, the meeting was adjourned.
