HomeMy Public PortalAbout042-1985-ZONING - 1212 SOUTH 21ST STREETGENERAL ORDINANCE NO. 42-1985 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 154 01�' T}IE; MVNICIPAL CODE, BEING ORDINANCE NO. 2325-1968, COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, PROVIDING FOR THE REZONING OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1212 SOUTH 21ST STREET FROM R-2 SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENCE DISTRICT TO R-2 SU SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENCE SPECIAL USE DISTRICT AND AUTHORIZING THE SPECIAL USE OF SAID PROPERTY TO PERMIT THE PLACEMENT OF A MANUFACTURED HOME. WHEREAS, the Zoning Map which is part of Ordinance No. 2325- 1968 designates and describes as R-2 Single Family Residence District the property located at 1212 South 21st Street; and, WHEREAS, it is the intent and purpose hereof to change the zoning classification of said property from R-2 Single Family Residence to R-2 SU Single -Family Residence Special Use District and to authorize the Special Use of said property to permit the placement of a manufactured home; and, WHEREAS, a study of this Ordinance was conducted by the Rich- mond City Plan Commission on the o2a'441' day of J23a.iL , 1985, at which time remon- strances werb heard from all parties interested in or affected by this Ordinance; and, WHEREAS, the vote of the Richmond City Plan Commission was to p in favor of/in opposition to recommending the passage of Ordinance No. 42-1985. NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana as follows: SECTION 1. That the zoning classification of the property described below, and the same is hereby changed to R-2 SU Single Family Residence Special Use District and that said property be regulated in accordance with the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Richmond, Indiana and all amendments thereto. Lot 126 Richard's Addition to the City of Richmond, Indiana SECTION 2.. That as provided in Articles 21.01 and 48 of Chapter 154 of the Municipal Code, the following described use of the above described real estate is allowed as a Special Use to permit the placement of a manufactured home. SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval as by law required. Case PC-85-5 Dear Mr. Williams, Members of Common Council and Mrs. Merchanthouse: The Richmond City Plan Commission conducted a public hearing on Tuesday, May 28, 1985, on the petition of Maurice T. Hurd, requesting the rezoning of property located at 1212 South 21st Street from R-2 Single -Family Residence District to R-2 SU Single -Family Residence Special Use District, and also requesting authorization for the Special Use of said property to permit the place- ment of a manufactured home. Nine (9) notices of public hearing were sent to adjoin- ing property owners with none returned. During the public hearing no one spoke in opposition to the re- quest. The Plan Commission determined that the petition meets the requirements and standards of the Zoning Ordinance and voted nine (9) to zero (0) to recommend that Ordi- nance No. 42-1985 he adopted.
