TO APPROPRIATE WITHIN THE GENERAL FUND WHEREAS, it has been determined that it is now necessary to appropriate more money than was appropriated in the annual budget: NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF TEE CITY OF RICHMOND, WAYNE COUNTY, INDIANA: SECTION 1. That for the expenses of said municipal corporation the following additional sums of money are hereby appropriated. AMOUNT AMOUNT REQUESTED APPROPRIATED GENERAL FUND Board of W orks 4000 — Capital Outlay $ 50,000.00 $ 50,000.00 SECTION 2. That for the expenses of said municipal corporation, the following additional sums of money are hereby appropriated and ordered set apart out of the fund herein named and for the purposes herein specified, subject to the laws governing the same. Waltermann, Mayor SUBJECT_ Appropriation Ordinance No. 44-1985, An Ordinance to Appropriate Within the General Fund, Board of Works I would like to reccumend approval of the request to appropriate 50,000.00 frcrn the fund balance of the General Fund to be placed into the Board of Works Capital Outlay Budget for the purchase of a six (6) to eight (8) ton dump truck for the Street Department. We are utilizing the Department Board of Works, since there is no Street Department within the General Fand. This appropriation from the fund balance would utilize 50,000.00 of the 150,000.00 transfer from RP&i, to the general fund of the City earlier this year. Since our administration has been in office, the Street Department has retired seven (7) of their fourteen (14) dtunp trucks. The revenue sharing appropriation (Ordinance No. 37-1985), appropriates 75,000.00 to Motor Vehicle Highway Street Department and includes 10,000.00 dump bed and plcw and a 40,000.00 used dump truck. The 10,000.00 dump bed and plow will be added to one of the seven (7) existing trucks. The used dump truck and play for 40,000.00 will bring the total dump trucks in the Street Department to eight (8). The Street Department needs nine dump trucks to correspond to the nine snow routes in the City. This 50,000.00 appropriation within the general fund will enable the Street Department to complete it's fleet of dump trucks. It is the plan of the Purchasing Department of the City of Richmond to bid the three (3) items (dump bed and plow, used dump truck and 50,000.00 dump truck) in a single bid so as to achieve the lowest pssible market price.
