ORDINANCE NO. 548
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT,
CALIFORNIA FOR ADOPTION OF THE UNIFORM BUILDING
CODE AND UNIFORM BUILDING CODE STANDARDS
An Ordinance of the City of Beaumont, California regulating
the erection, construction, enlargement, alteration, repair, moving,
removal, demolition, conversion, occupancy, equipment, use, height,
area and maintenance of all buildings or structures in the City of
Beaumont; providing for the issuance of permits and collection of
fees therefor; repealing Ordinance No. 515 of the City of Beaumont
and all other ordinances and parts of the ordinances in conflict
therewith.
The City Council of the City of Beaumont DOES ORDAIN as follows:
Section l: That certain documents, three (3) copies of which
are on file in the office of the City Building Inspector and the
City of Beaumont, being marked and designated as "Uniform Building
Code, Uniform Plumbing Code, Uniform Mechnical Code, Uniform Fire
Code and Uniform Housing Code", 1982 edition, and the "Uniform
Building Code Standards", 1982 edition, published by the Interna-
tional Conference of Building Officials, be and the same is hereby
adopted as the code of the City of Beaumont for regulating the
erection, construction, enlargement, alteration, repair, moving,
removal, demolition, conversion, occupancy, equipment, use, height,
area and maintenance of all buildings or structures in the City of
Beaumont providing for issuance of permits and collection of fees
therefor; and each and all of the regulations, provisions, condi-
tions and terms of such "Uniform Building Code", 1982 edition, and
the "Uniform Building Code Standards", 1982 edition published by the
International Conference of Building Officials, on file in the offic•
of the City of Beaumont are hereby referred to, adopted and made a
part hereof as if fully set out in this ordinance.
Section 2: That Ordinance No. 515 of the City of Beaumont
entitled , "An ordinance of the City of Beaumont, California repeali
Ordinances No. 428, 488 and 448 of the City of Beaumont to provide
for the adoption by reference of the International Conference of
Building Officials publications 1979 edition, Uniform Building Code,
Uniform Mechanical Code, Uniform Housing Code, Uniform Code for the
Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, and Uniform Sign Code, as the
Uniform Building Codes of the City of Beaumont, and providing
penalties for the violation thereof; all other ordinances or parts
of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed", and all
other ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed.
Section 3: That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this ordinance and cause the same to be published.
Section 4: That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause
or phrase of this ordinance is, for any reason, held to be unconsti-
tutional, such decision shall not affect the validity of the
remaining portions of this ordinance. The City Council hereby
declares that it would have passed this ordinance, and each section,
subsection, clause or phrase thereof, irrespective of the fact that
any one or more sections, subsections, sentences, clauses and phrase
be declared unconstitutional.

Section 5: That this ordinance shall be and is hereby declared
to be in full force and effect thirty (30) days from the date of
final passage and approval.
