ORDINANCE NO. 580
AN URGENCY ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT,
CALIFORNIA AMENDING ORDINANCE 490 BY REPEALING
SECTION 600.4-7. A, B, C, OF ARTICLE VI
WHEREAS, the Supreme Court of the United States has held that
the right of expression is paramount pertaining to political cam-
paigns; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City of Beaumont to preserve
and promote political expression.
IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED:
SECTION I - Ordinance 490 is amended by repealing Section
600.4-7, a, b, c, of said Ordinance.
SECTION II - This Ordinance is passed, adopted and enacted
pursuant to Section 36934 of the Government Code as an urgency
measure pursuant to the police power of the City of Beaumont. It
shall become effective immediately.
SECTION III - The City Clerk is hereby directed to attest
hereto and post as provided by law.
