ORDINANCE NO. 601
AN URGENCY ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BEAUMONT, CALIFORNIA. A'ENDING TITLE 17 OF THE BEAUMONT
MUNICIPAL CODE BY AMENDING THE ZONING MAP OF
THE CITY OF BEAUMONT TO PROVIDE LAND ANNEXED TO THE CITY
WITH INTERIM INDUSTRIAL PARK (I -P) ZONING
WHEREAS, the Westinghouse property was pre -zoned on March 15,
1984; and
WHEREAS, said pre -zoning under current State of California
Planning Law expired after forty-five (45) days on April 29, 1984;
and
WHEREAS, the Westinghouse annexation was recorded by LAFCO on
June 5, 1984; and
WHEREAS, §65859 of the California Government Code provides for
the adoption of Interim Zoning, pursuant to §65858, for property
not pre -zoned at the time it is annexed; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission and City Council are consider-
ing the use of the I -P Zone on property at Highland Springs Road
and 2nd Street, which is a use consistent with the General Plan;
IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of
Beaumont as follows:
SECTION I: To protect the public safety, health and welfare,
this Ordinance is adopted as an Urgency Ordinance.
SECTION II: All uses of land not consistent with the uses
permitted in the I -P Zone are hereby prohibited.
SECTION III: The Land Use Map, as provided for in Section
17.12.020 of the Municipal Code of the City of Beaumont, is hereby
amended to provide that property identified as LAFCO 84-32-3 and
Beaumont 84-ANX-3-34, is zoned Interim Industrial Park (I -IP).
MOVED, PASSED and ADOPTED as an Urgency Ordinance at its first
reading on the 25th day of June , 1984.
