ORDINANCE NO. 617
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BEAUMONT, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING BEAUMONT MUNICIPAL CODE
TITLE 17 (ZONING) PERTAINING TO DISPLAY OF MERCHANDISE
IN THE GENERAL COMMERCIAL (C -G) ZONE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: Title 17 of the Beaumont Municipal Code is
amended by adding Section 17.40.325 -8 to read as follows:
Section 17.40.325 -8) OUTDOOR MERCHANDISE DISPLAYS.
Limitations on Permitted Uses. Every use permitted in a
C -G Zone shall be subject to the following conditions
and limitations.
1. All outdoor displays of merchandise be maintained
in such a manner that they:
a) Are displayed on-site in such a manner that
their presentation and placement produce a
sightly, safe or tidy appearance.
b) Off-site displays intruding into public pro-
perty or street right-of-way, having a
duration of more than three consecutive days
or with a frequency of more than twice
annually, may be permitted by conditional use
permit.
1) Such displays of merchandise are to be
temporary and are only displayed during
business operation hours.
2) Such displays are placed in such a manner
that neither restricts or blocks pedes-
trian or vehicular access and/or parking.
2. Storage shall be limited to accessory storage (not to
exceed 25% of the building area) of commodities sold
on the premises.
Section 2: This Ordinance shall take effect thirty (30)
days after its final passage and within fifteen (15) days after
its passage, the City Clerk shall cause it to be published in the
Record Gazette, a newspaper of general circulation, printed and
published in the City of Beaumont, in the manner prescribed by law
for publishing of Ordinances of said City.
