THE CITY OF BEL AIRE, KANSAS
ORDINANCE NO. 52
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE FEES' 'TO BE PAID
TO ATTORNEYS APPOINTED TO REPRESENT INDIGENT
DEFENDANTS,
Whereas, the City of Bel Aire, Kansas, has established a
Municipal Court system for its community and
Whereas, that from time to time,under appropriate circumstances
it may be necessary for the fair and impartial administration of the
Criminal Justice system of said City, that the Judge of the Municipal
Court cause to be appointed for an indigent charged defendant a legal
representative to properly provide an adequate defense for such charged
indigent defendant, now
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF BEL AIRE:
Section 1, The fees to be paid to an attorney, properly admitted
to the Bar of the State of Kansas, appointed to represent an idigent
charged defendant in the Municipal Court of the City, properly appointed
by the Judge of that Court is to be as follows:
For disposition' of a case without trial
For disposition of a case with trial
$ 25.00
$ 35,00
Section 2. The City Clerk is authorized to accept a statement,
approved by the Judge of the Municipal Court from an attorney for
services rendered to an indigent defendant and present it to the Governing
Body in a proper appropriation Ordinance for payment.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon
its publication in the official City Publication.
