A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE, FLORIDA; SUPPORTING
THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA IN THEIR
EFFORTS FOR THE NEED FOR GUN SAFETY; PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Village Council of the Village of Key Biscayne finds that violence related
to firearms disturbs the public peace and impairs the safety and security of citizens; and
WHEREAS, each year in the nation, the State of Florida and in Miami -Dade County, Florida,
a multitude of children gain access to firearms that are stored in their homes with the painful result
that many innocent persons are injured, maimed or killed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the Village Council of the Village of Key Biscayne condemns all forms of
violence, in particular those utilizing firearms and supports all forms of gun safety that would
address this growing epidemic in our society.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
