HomeMy Public PortalAbout2023.024 (03-07-2023)RESOLUTION NO. 2023.024 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD, REJECTING ALL BIDS FOR THE IMPROVEMENTS AT LOS ANGELES COUNTY FIRE STATION 147 WHEREAS, the City conducted an informal bidding process for improvements at Fire Station 147. Three contractors were invited to visit Fire Station 147. The scope of work for the fire station was discussed and proposals were requested from the three contractors. and WHEREAS, the scope of work consists of apparatus bay concrete floor, perimeter fencing and gate.; and WHEREAS, Pursuant to Section 6-3.7(b)(2) of the Lynwood Municipal Code, purchases between $50,001 and $200,000 shall be by an informal bid process and must be approved by the City Council.; and WHEREAS, On August 21, 2022, the city received three proposals for various improvement work at Los Angeles County Fire Station 147.; and WHEREAS, the city received the following proposals: Proposal Proposal Amount 1. Seniors and Juniors, Inc. Fire Station 147 $183, 800.00 2. Hera Construction, Inc. Fire Station 147 $216,201.30 3. M&C Construction Group, Inc. Fire Station 147 $227, 220.00 WHEREAS, the lowest bidder, Seniors and Juniors Inc. cannot be awarded the contract as Seniors and Juniors Inc. had not registered with the Department of Industrial Relations before submitting their proposal.; and WHEREAS, the next lowest bid cannot be awarded the contract due to the amount exceeding $200,000, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: 1 Section 1. The City Council of the City of Lynwood hereby finds and declares that the foregoing recitals are true and correct, and incorporates them herein as findings and as a substantive part of this Resolution. Section 2. The City Council of the City of Lynwood rejects all the bids received for the Improvements of Los Angeles County Fire Station 147. Section 3. The City Council of the City of Lynwood authorizes staff to readvertise and reevaluate the scope of work for the solicitation of bids for said project. Section 4. Authorize the Mayor to execute the Resolution for and on behalf of the City of Lynwood. Section 5. This Resolution shall take full force and effect immediately upon adoption by the City Council. Section 6. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this City Council Resolution. PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 7th day of March 2023.
