A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
APPROVING THE LYNWOOD PARK MEGA PLAYGROUND PROJECT
CONCEPT AND AUTHORIZATION TO SOLICIT PROPOSALS
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood is seeking approval of the "Space" concept for
the Lynwood Park Mega Playground.; and
WHEREAS, the Lynwood Park Mega Playground is one of many improvements
the City of Lynwood is seeking to complete in order to enhance outdoor experiences for
community residents.; and
WHEREAS, the Project (Project Number #68.132) was approved as part of the 5 -
Year Capital Improvement Project (CIP) plan; and
WHEREAS, the Project consists of three (3) Phases of the Lynwood Park
Expansion Project.; and
WHEREAS, Phase 1 will include a large playground complex split into age -group
play areas, expanded walkways, safety lighting, seating areas, trash cans and water
fountains.; and
WHEREAS, Phase 2 will include a splash pad water feature, picnic seating, space
exhibition and other various amenities.; and
WHEREAS, Phase 3 will include free WIFI through the entire Lynwood Park; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood is seeking authorization to solicit qualified
architects/contractors to submit a proposal for design -build work of the Lynwood Park
Mega Playground Project.; and
WHEREAS, the project has an approved budget of $9,555,000. The funding
sources are 2019 Lease Revenue Bonds, American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) fund, and
Measure A.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Lynwood hereby finds and declares that
the foregoing recitals are true and correct, and incorporates them herein as findings and
as a substantive part of this Resolution.

Section 2. The City Council of the City of Lynwood authorizes approval of
Lynwood Park Mega Playground project concept and authorizes approval to solicit
proposals.
Section 3. Authorize the Mayor to execute the Resolution for and on behalf of the
City of Lynwood.
Section 4. This Resolution shall take full force and effect immediately upon
adoption by the City Council.
Section 5. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this City Council
Resolution.
