A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
ACCEPTING THE SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENT PROJECT AT WRIGHT
ROAD FROM FERNWOOD AVE TO DUNCAN AVE AND CITYWIDE
PRIORITY 1 SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENT PROJECT FY22/FY23
PROJECT (CIP 4011.68.022) AS COMPLETE; AUTHORIZING THE
FILING OF THE NOTICE OF COMPLETION WITH THE LOS ANGELES
COUNTY RECORDER'S OFFCE AND THE RELEASE OF THE 5%
RETENTION 35 DAYS AFTER THE ACCEPTANCE.
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood has received requests from residents for sidewalk
improvements for various locations throughout the City; and
WHEREAS, the Project consists of removing and reconstructing sidewalks, curb
and gutter, driveway improvements; and
WHEREAS, on May 17, 2022, the City awarded the contract to the lowest
responsible bidder, FS Contractors, Inc. in the amount of $556,090 for the project.; and
WHEREAS, a budget of $803,120 was approved by the City Council in FY 22
using Bike & Ped Grant and Measure R Funds. The funding source approved was from
FY 22/23 Budget and additional appropriation from Measure M Bond.; and
WHEREAS, the construction of the Project started on July 25, 2022; and
WHEREAS, there were four (4) contract change orders executed in the amount of
$56,665.; and
WHEREAS, the final date of construction was on December 7, 2022 for Priority 1
Citywide Sidewalk Improvements and found that all work was completed in accordance
with the project plans and specifications.; and
WHEREAS, the total construction cost including project management and
inspection is $687,220.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council for the City of Lynwood finds and declares that the
forgoing recitals are true and correct and incorporates said recitals fully into this
Resolution as substantive findings.
Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Lynwood accepts the Sidewalk
Improvement Project Wright Road from Fernwood Ave to Duncan Ave and Citywide
Priority 1 Sidewalk Improvement Project FY22/23 Project (CIP 4011.68.022) ("Project")
as complete in accordance with contract documents.

Section 3. The City Council authorizes the Director of Public Works or his
designee to process the recordation and filing of the Notice of Completion with the Los
Angeles County Recorder's Office.
Section 4. The City Council authorizes the release of the 5% retention 35 days
after acceptance.
Section 5. Authorize the Mayor to execute the Resolution for and on behalf of the
City of Lynwood.
Section 6. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
Section 7. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption' of this resolution and
hereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
