A RESOLUTION OF THE LYNWOOD CITY COUNCIL APPROVING AN
AGREEMENT WITH THE SOUTH-CENTRAL L.A. REGIONAL CENTER
FOR THE 2023 SOCIAL RECREATION PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Recreation & Community Services Department applied for and
was successfully awarded a grant of $128,756.00 from the South -Central L.A. Regional
Center (SCLARC) and the California Department of Development Services (DDS) to
support the 2023 "Social Recreation" Grant Program benefitting youth 3-21 years of age
with developmental disabilities; and
WHEREAS, grant management practices require the City to certify, by resolution,
acceptance of the grant, acceptance of responsibility to perform grant and partnership
requirements and authorization for execution of related documents and activities; and
WHEREAS, it is the goal of the program that children and adolescents with and
without intellectual and developmental disabilities (1/00) will develop friendships from
opportunities provided by integrated and inclusive social and recreational programs; and
WHEREAS, the grant will be used in strict accordance with requirements
established by the agreement and the SCLARC.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Lynwood finds and declares that the
foregoing recitals are true and correct, and incorporates said recitals fully into this
Resolution as substantive findings.
Section 2. Approves acceptance of the South -Central L.A. Regional Center
(SCLARC) and the California Department of Development Services (DDS) grant and
Agreement to support the 2023 "Social Recreation" program.
Section 3. The City Manager and/or his designee is authorized to execute any
documents and activities related to the Agreement and program including, but not limited
to contracts and grant payments to contractors which may be necessary for the
completion of the aforementioned program and to allocate necessary staff time to manage
the program.
Section 4. The Finance Department is authorized and directed to receive grant
funds; establish the appropriate Departmental accounts; enroll in any required E -billing
and web -based payment receipt systems as required by the grant, and expend the grant
funds as designated by the appropriation below:

Section 5. The Human Resources Department is authorized and directed to
establish the required, temporary staff positions or equivalents, in accordance to the grant
requirements.
Section 6. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
