Eric's Report: Landscapes unlimited started work on the 3rd set of tees today. They
will be shutting down at 5pm on Friday to allow practice rounds for this
weekend's tournament.
Eric and his department are fully staffed for two months, another person will be
starting a week from Monday.
On Tuesday nights for the Men's League Scramble they are playing Birch of temp
tees, therefore not blocking play on other two courses.
The grounds crew has mowed tees in for the upcoming tournament the original
plan was to play off mats on the dirt tees however with the recent weather it has
been far too muddy for that.
Range — hitting off mats on Fridays.
Eric is working on signs for the driving range that state the distance you can hit
within driving range area (Eric has been asked by multiple homeowners).
Equipment holding up well. There is one rough mower that is giving some trouble,
it is showing error codes.
Greens — got to put fertilizer and spray. The weakest greens were needle pinned
and seeded.
The tip seeder is working. They have discovered that uncoated seeds work better.
Got the greens top seeded/dressed. They have two options for doing this with the
current weather. 1. Go lighter and water behind. 2. Go heavier and fill in low lying
areas and ball markers with more sand.
The greens are being rolled two days a week. They are also doing Sugar Water
irrigation. This process knocks of the dew and the sand isn't sticking to
rollers/mowers. The greens will be mowed and rolled throughout the
tournament.
Eric has received many reports of the grounds crew being respectful and nice. The
Starter/Players Assistant role is working well, all employees have radios and
communication between grounds crew and pro shop staff has been really good.
Driving range is open 30 mins before 15t tee time. 8:00 is currently the 1st tee
time. Eric reports that David may lower to 7:30 however probably not any earlier
than that. Pro shop flow and ease of getting people to tee/carts has been running
smoothly. Pro shop has scheduled employees one month in advance and
employees are seemingly happy with this as they know their schedule and can
work between themselves for changes, etc.
Eric sprayed for Mosquitoes.
The cart path Grinder is coming in July, the plan is to start on Aspen 9 and see
how much grinding they can get done. Public works is also doing some work with
the grinder while it is in town.
Golf course rezone is still in research mode. Meredith Todd — City Planner is still
working on the Residential to Civic Rezone on the Conditional Use Plan. All the
contingent lots together, there must be green space per each lot. The original 18
was finally found on a map; some of these original documents are saying that the
property is only used for golf, which has since changed since the walking trails are
plowed in the Wintertime, etc. There is a lot of researching of Maps/Plots and
planning. City development is taking on this project and they are doing a lot of
work towards finding this information. The next steps would be a neighborhood
meeting for all property owners within 300' of the Golf Course property line. Then
take the proposed changes to Planning and Zoning. After P and Z it would have to
go before City Council.
David's Report: David absent.
Monthly Topic: Review Golf Course Rules and Regulations
Everyone had looked over the Rules and Regulations. David and Eric had talked
prior to the meeting and David had some ideas. Group decided to table until
following meeting when David could attend, and we could all discuss together.
