AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT,
CALIFORNIA, REPEALING SECTIONS 2.08.100, 2.08.110, 2.08.120,
2.08.130 AND 2.08.140 OF THE BEAUMONT MUNICIPAL CODE, AND ADDING
NEW SECTIONS 2.08.100 AND 2.08.110, PROVIDING FOR THE PAYMENT OF
SALARIES TO MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, CALIFORNIA
DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: Sections 2.08.100, 2.08.110, 2.08.120,
2.08.130 and 2.08.140 of the Beaumont Municipal Code are hereby
repealed.
SECTION 2: Section 2.08.100 is hereby added to the
Beaumont Municipal Code as follows:
2.08.100 - City Council - Salaries - Generally. As
provided by Government Code Section 36516, each member of the City
Council of the City of Beaumont shall receive, as salary, the sum
of $300.00 per month, at the same time and in the same manner as
the salaries are paid to other officers and employees of the City
of Beaumont.
SECTION 3: Section 2.08.110 is hereby added to the
Beaumont Municipal Code as follows:
2.08.110 - City Council - Reimbursement. The salaries
prescribed in Section 2.08.110 are and shall be exclusive of any
amounts payable to each member of the Council as reimbursement for
actual and necessary expenses incurred by each Council Member in
the performance of official duties for the City.
SECTION 4: This Ordinance shall become effective as of
the date upon which new terms of officers begin following the
election to be held in said City on Tuesday, November 7, 1989.
SECTION 5: The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published once in
the Record -Gazette, a newspaper of general circulation in the City
of Beaumont.
