AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BEAUMONT, CALIFORNIA, PREZONING 9,117 ACRES OF LAND FROM
COUNTY OF RIVERSIDE M -M (MANUFACTURING -MEDIUM), M -H
(HEAVY MANUFACTURING), M -R -A (MINERAL RESOURCES AND
RELATED MANUFACTURING), W-2 (CONTROLLED DEVELOPMENT)
AND W-2-160 (CONTROLLED DEVELOPMENT, 160 ACRE MINIMUM
LOT SIZE) TO CITY OF BEAUMONT SPA (SPECIFIC PLAN AREA)
(92-RZ-2). LOCATION: AT THE SOUTHERLY TERMINUS OF
HIGHLAND SPRINGS AVENUE, SOUTHEASTERLY OF THE EXISTING
BEAUMONT CORPORATE LIMITS (92-ANX-2-53).
WHEREAS, the City of Beaumont has initiated the
annexation of 9,117 acres located at the terminus of Highland
Springs Avenue southeasterly of the current Beaumont Corporate
limits; and
WHEREAS, the City of Beaumont desires to provide for an
orderly corporate boundary and for the provision of full urban
services to the subject area; and
WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) of
the County of Riverside requires that a City prezone property
prior to the filing of an annexation application; and
WHEREAS, The Beaumont Planning Commission conducted a
public hearing on September 7, 1993 and recommended that the
City Council adopt the proposed pre -zoning for the Potrero
Creek project; and
WHEREAS, a duly noticed public hearing as required by law
was conducted by the Beaumont City Council on the 27th day of
September, 1993 on said prezoning.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: Upon recordation of the Certificate of
Completion of Annexation 92-ANX-2-53 by the Local Agency
Formation Commission, the Beaumont Zoning Map with respect to the
subject property legally described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto,
shall be amended to read:
SPA (SPECIFIC PLAN AREA)
The prevailing zoning standards shall become those standards
as contained in the approved Potrero Creek Specific Plan.
SECTION 2: This Ordinance shall take effect thirty (30)
days after its final passage and within fifteen (15) days after
its passage the City Clerk shall cause a summary to be published
in the Record Gazette, a newspaper of general circulation, printed
and published in the City of Beaumont, in the manner prescribed
by law for publishing of Ordinances of said City.
