AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT,
CALIFORNIA, PREZONING 160 ACRES OF LAND FROM COUNTY OF
RIVERSIDE R -R (RURAL RESIDENTIAL) TO CITY OF BEAUMONT SPA
(SPECIFIC PLAN AREA) (95-RZ-1). LOCATION: AT THE SOUTH-
EAST CORNER OF STATE ROUTE 60 AND JACK RABBIT TRAIL
(94-ANX-4).
WHEREAS, the City of Beaumont has received an application
from the Lockheed Corporation for the annexation of 160 acres
known as the Beaumont Gateway Specific Plan, located at the south-
east corner of the intersection of Jack Rabbit Trail and State
Route 60; and
WHEREAS, the City of Beaumont desires to provide for an
orderly corporate boundary and for the provision of full urban
services to the subject area; and
WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) of the
County of Riverside requires that a City prezone property prior to
the filing of an annexation application; and
WHEREAS, the Beaumont Planning Commission conducted a public
hearing on June 6, 1995 and recommended that the City Council
adopt the proposed pre -zoning for the Gateway Beaumont project;
and
WHEREAS, a duly noticed public hearing as required by law
was conducted by the Beaumont City Council on the 26th day of
June, 1995 on said prezoning.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: Upon recordation of the Certificate of
Completion of Annexation 94-ANX-4 by the Local Agency Formation
Commission, the Beaumont Zoning map with respect to the subject
property legally described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto, shall
be amended to read:
SPA (SPECIFIC PLAN AREA)
The prevailing zoning standards shall become those standards as
contained in the approved Beaumont Gateway Specific Plan.
SECTION 2: This Ordinance shall take effect thirty (30)
days after its final passage and within fifteen (15) days after
its passage the City Clerk shall cause a summary to be published
in the Record Gazette, a newspaper of general circulation, printed
and published in the City of Beaumont, in the manner prescribed
by law for publishing of Ordinances of said City.
