A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING STAFF TO SOLICIT A NOTICE OF
INVITING BIDS FOR INSTALLATION OF . LARGE WATER METER
ADVANCED INFRASTRUCTURE (AMI) PROJECT PHASE I
WHEREAS, the City owns standard meters citywide;
WHEREAS, most of these meters are averaging 20 years in age and are read
manually;
WHEREAS, aging meters past their service life impact accuracy on capturing
actual water usage;
WHEREAS, on December 14, 2021, the City Council authorized the sole source
agreement to Aqua -Metrics Sales Corporation to provide AMI Data Collection System
and purchase of large AMI meters to begin a city-wide meter -change out project; and
WHEREAS, staff recommends to implement replacement of the existing standard
meters with smart meters for accurate reading, lower maintenance cost, decreased cost
of manual meter reading, and replacement of old technology and
WHEREAS, staff is requesting authorization to solicit Notices of Inviting Bids for
the installation of said meter boxes, MXU units, and meter vault upgrades as necessary
on PlanetBids; and
WHEREAS, staff will review responsible bidders and make a recommendation
for council to award at a future council meeting a contract for the installation of said
meter boxes, MXU units, and meter vault upgrades as necessary.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Lynwood hereby finds and declares
that the foregoing recitals are true and correct, and incorporates them herein as findings
and as a substantive part of this Resolution.
Section 2. That the City Council authorize staff to solicit a Notice of Inviting Bids
for the installation of large advanced meter infrastructure (AMI) project Phase!, submit to
PlanetBids, and have staff make recommendations for the award of the project at a future
council meeting.
Section 3. Authorize the Mayor to execute the Resolution for and on behalf of
the City of Lynwood.

Section 4. This Resolution shall take
adoption by the City Council.
Section 5. The City Clerk shall certify
