Meeting was called to order at 3:30PM

• Task Force is a group working on Task(s)
• Long term solution
• Perception is critical

• Define perception
• Citizen who believe Orange Crush is the worst thing that happens on Tybee
Chief Brvson
• Volume of people that come to Tybee Island
• Lack of laws regarding alcohol
• High rate of alcohol related citations during Orange Crush
Michael Brooks
• Reputation — "if you want to party — go to Tybee"
• How much is our perception colored by the lack of rules
• If ban consumption on the beach they will patron the bars
• Would like to get the business owners on board with a possible ban
• Possibility of clearing up traffic issues

• What and where are the major arrests on the beach
• Concerns with enforcement, maybe another approach

• Arrests and incidents were all over the Island. Not specific to one area
• Need to bring something to the table that will be extreme
• Need to add more officers to the Force

• Need to address the crux of the problem

• All perception is beach goers feel that they can do anything and not prosecuted

• Feels we need to control the crowds, alcohol may be secondary

• Challenge are the day trippers
• If ordinance is in place, how would it be enforced?

• Other municipalities such as Hilton Head have an ordinance on banning of alcohol
• Fort Myers has "no containers" on beach
• Need to invite other municipalities to our meeting to discuss
Chief Bryson
• Don't want to check bags prior to going on the beach
• Need to work together as a community as the result will be infectious
• Will bring actual arrest numbers for the past three years regarding alcohol to next meeting

• Dealing with a change of culture
• Invite other municipalities to speak to the group concerning ban on drinking
