AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BEAUMONT, CALIFORNIA, REPEALING SUB -SECTION
17.60.020(A)1 OF THE BEAUMONT MUNICIPAL CODE AND
ADDING A NEW SUB -SECTION 17.60.020(A)1 TO THE
MUNICIPAL CODE CONCERNING ON-SITE ADVERTISING
STRUCTURES & SIGNS.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT DOES CRDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: Chapter 17.60, Sub -section 17.60.0-0(A)1 of
the Municipal Code of the City of Beaumont is repealed.
SECTION 2: Chapter 17.60, Sub -section 17.60.0.0(A)1 is
added to read as follows:
A. FREE-STANDING SIGNS.
1. FREEWAY AND OFF -RAMP CORRIDOR ZONES:
a. The following freeway off -ramp corridors will
be allowed "freeway height - free - standing signs" and located
within 660 feet of the nearest edge of a freeway right of way
line or within the three freeway off -ramp corridors whose
dimensions are defined as follows:
i. Highland Springs off -ramp corridor
extending 100 feet north of the northerly right-of-way of Sixth
Street and 200 feet westerly of the right-of-way line at Highland
Springs Road.
ii. Pennsylvania Avenue off -ramp extending
100 feet north of the northerly right-of-way of Sixth Street and
200 feet easterly and westerly of the right-of-way :.ines of
Pennsylvania Avenue.
iii. Beaumont Avenue off -ramp corridor
extending 100 feet north of the northerly right-of-way of Sixth
Street and extending 200 feet easterly and westerly of the
right-of-way lines of Beaumont Avenue.
b. The maximum height of a sign shall not exceed
45 feet.
c. The maximum surface area of a s:_gn shall not
exceed 150 square feet.

SECTION 2: This Ordinance shall take effect a3 provided by
PASSED AND ADOPTED on this 27th day of July
1987, upon the following roll call vote.
