AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BEAUMONT REPEALING CHAPTER 9.24 OF THE
BEAUMONT MUNICIPAL CODE AND ADDING
TO THE BEAUMONT MUNICIPAL CODE
CHAPTER 9.24 ENTITLED "CURFEW FOR MINORS"
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT,
STATE OF CALIFORNIA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: Chapter 9.24 of the Municipal Code of the City
of Beaumont is hereby repealed.
SECTION 2: Chapter 9.24 is added to read as follows:

CURFEW FOR MINORS

Curfew established.
Responsibility of parent or guardian.
Violation --Penalty.
9.24.010 Curfew established. Every person under the age of
eighteen years who loiters about the public streets, avenues,
alleys, parks or public places of the City between the hours of
ten p.m. on Sunday to Thursday and the time of sunyise of the
following day and between the hours of eleven p.m. on Friday and
Saturday and the time of sunrise of the following day, when not
accompanied by his parent or legal guardian having legal custody
and control of such person, or spouse of such person eighteen
years of age or over, is guilty of a misdemeanor.
9.24.020 Responsibility of parent or guardian. Every
parent, guardian or other person having the legal i.are, custody
or control of any person under the age of eighteen years who
allows or permits such person to violate any provision of Section
9.24.010 is guilty of a misdemeanor.
9.24.030 Violation --Penalty. Any person who violates any
of the provisions of this Chapter shall be guilty A a
misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be :?unished by a
fine of not more than five hundred dollars or by imprisonment in
the County jail for a period of not more than six nonths, or by
both such fine and imprisonment.

SECTION 3: This Ordinance shall take effect is provided by
