A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AUTHORIZING STAFF TO PURCHASE TWO BACKHOES AND ONE
TRACTOR FOR THE TOTAL OF $413,494.97 FOR THE PUBLIC WORKS
STREET, GROUNDS AND WATER DIVISIONS
WHEREAS, one backhoe purchased in 2001 for the Water Division has been
identified as needing replacement; and
WHEREAS, one backhoe needs to be purchased for the Grounds Division as
replacement for old unit that was auctioned off due to age and being non -operational; and
WHEREAS, one tractor purchased in 2000 for the Street Division has been
identified as needing replacement; and
WHEREAS, under LMC 6-3.7 Bidding Procedures and Purchasing Authority Limits
(2a) staff requested three bids necessary for the backhoes and tractor; and
WHEREAS, Sonsray Machinery has provided the lowest quote for the tractor at
$135,348.71 and the backhoes at $ 278,146.26; and
WHEREAS, the City has set aside funds for machinery and equipment
replacement in the FY 23 budget in account numbers 7011.45.420.66015,
2101.45.410.66015, 6051.45.450.66015, and 6401.45.460.66015
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Lynwood hereby finds and declares
that the foregoing recitals are true and correct and incorporates them herein as findings
and as substantive part of this resolution-.
Section 2. The City Council of the City of Lynwood approve the purchase of two
(2) backhoes and one (1) tractor under LMC Purchase Authority 6-3.7.
Section 3. The City Council of the City of Lynwood authorizes the Mayor to
execute the purchase agreement between the City of Lynwood and Sonsray Machinery
for a total amount of $413,494.97.
Section 4. Authorize the Mayor to execute the Resolution for and on behalf of
the City of Lynwood.
Section 5. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
Section 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution and
hereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
