A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD APPROVING THE PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION
OF HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE COMPONENTS FOR THE
VALVE MAINTENANCE TRUCK FOR $155,949.67; AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE PURCHASE
AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, the City provides drinking water to its residents from local
groundwater and import water through an extensive distribution system; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood Public Works Department Utility Section is
responsible for operating and maintaining the public water system; and
WHEREAS, a Valve Maintenance Truck allows the department to perform
required valve exercising, maintenance, and repairs essential for operating and
maintaining the water distribution system; and
WHEREAS, hardware and software components for the Valve Maintenance
Truck require upgrades necessary to complete required tasks; and
WHEREAS, and under LMC 6-3.7 Bidding Procedures and Purchasing
Authority Limits (2a) staff requested three bids necessary for the upgrade of the
Valve Maintenance Truck; and
WHEREAS, Plumbers Depot has provided the only quote for the hardware,
software, training, safety equipment, mounting, freight, tax, and delivery for
$155,949.67; and
WHEREAS, there are available funds in the FY 23 budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Lynwood hereby finds and
declares that the foregoing recitals are true and correct, and incorporates them
herein as findings and as a substantive part of this Resolution.
Section 2. The City Council of the City of Lynwood approve the purchase
and installation of hardware and software components for the Valve Maintenance
Truck under LMC Purchase Authority 6-3.7.
Section 3. The City Council of the City of Lynwood authorizes the Mayor
to execute the purchase agreement between the City of Lynwood and Plumbers
Depot for $155,949.67.
Section 4. Authorize the Mayor to execute the Resolution for and on
behalf of the City of Lynwood.
Section 5. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its
adoption.
Section 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution
and hereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
