A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD APPROVING A UTILITY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
AND THE APPROPRIATION OF $500,000 IN ARPA FUNDING
FOR PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION
WHEREAS, the Lynwood City Council approved Resolution No. 2022.018
reserving and appropriating Coronavirus Local Recovery Funds awarded to the
City of Lynwood under the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA); and
WHEREAS, $500,000 is appropriated for Basic Needs under the City's
adopted ARPA plan to assist households economically impacted through the
proposed Utility Assistance Program; and
WHEREAS, financial assistance would support households stay
connected to essential services in the city that were affected by COVID-19
closures and other safety or quality of life impacts.
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
DOES HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council for the City of Lynwood finds and declares
that the forgoing recitals are true and correct, and incorporates said recitals fully
into this Resolution as substantive findings.
Section 2. The City Council further finds that the requested program
and appropriation serves the important community purpose of assisting
economically impacted households in the City.
Section 3. The City Council further authorizes the City Manager to
direct staff to identify and approve the appropriate financial accounts to support
the program as presented in the Utility Assistance Program Guidelines &
Application as Attachment A.
Section 4. The City Council approves the following appropriation:

Section 5. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its
adoption.
