Finance Committee
May 15, 2001
1.The meeting was called to order by Finance Committee Chairman Larry Vincent at 5:35
P.M. Those in attendance were as follows:

2.A motion was made by Councilman John Landwehr and seconded by Cliff Olsen to
approve the Finance Committee minutes of April 17, 2000. The motion was unanimously
approved.
3.A motion was made by Councilman John Landwehr and seconded by Edith Vogel to
approve the Finance Committee minutes of April 16, 2001. The motion was unanimously
approved.
4.Gail Strope, the Director of Human Resources, provided a handout for discussion
purposes. The handout covered the cost of salary increases, retirement plan costs,
projected health insurance increases and current insurance subsidy costs.
Discussion followed and at the conclusion of the discussion a number of items were
requested prior to the next meeting on May 23. Those items were as follows:
A.Retirement Plan Comparisons
B.The 80 and Out cost savings if the plan were eliminated for future
employees.
C.History of LAGERS Percentage Rate and a comparison of cost this year
versus next year projections.
D.Calculation of potential Benefit reduction savings.
E.Dis t ribution o f Hu m an R esources S u rvey.
5.There was no other business to discuss.
6.Councilman Landwehr made a motion to adjourn and was seconded by Councilman
Vogel. Motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 6:30 P.M.
