MINUTES
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Tom Rackers at 11:44 A.M. Mayor Rackers turned the meeting over to
Beth Carmichael, Executive Director of the CVB, for introductions.
Once Mrs. Carmichael introduced current and former CVB Board Members and other invited guests, she turned to
Mr. Jim McHenry and asked that he present the findings of the Investigative Committee charged with reviewing
the circumstances and actions taken in relation to the proposed Bike Race. Mr. McHenry made a very brief
statement and then invited questions.
Councilman Clyde Angle began by asking a series of questions relating to the classification of the $10,000 and it’s
subsequent contract or agreement with GaleForce Marketing for the bike race. Responses and comments to those
questions were given by Bill Case, Duane Schreimann, Steve Duncan and Ted Stewart. Mr. Stewart sought to
clarify the briefness of the original agreement and then went on to address the correspondence and discussions he
had with the Marketing Companies representative. Mr. McHenry took the opportunity to explain to Councilman
Angle that no criminal or civil actions are anticipated with either the Prosecutors Office or with the CVB Board.
Mr. Schreimann agreed with those statements.
The only definitive action coming out of the meeting was the statement by Mr. Stewart whereby he stated that he
would assign to the CVB any and all Intellectual and other rights based on his past participation in arranging for
the Bike Race to take place in Jefferson City.
Councilman Edith Vogel made a brief statement explaining her total confidence in Mr. Stewart and the CVB’s
direction and actions regarding all of the events related to the Bike Race.
Mayor Rackers adjourned the meeting at 12:35 P.M.
