Councilman Cliff Olsen Tom Hood, Director of Transit Councilman Richard Groner Dan Debrine, Director of Central Maintenance Councilman Michael Berry Marty Brose, Director of Transportation Ron Craft, Director of Airport Division Louis Alber, Acting Director of Streets Div. Bill Lockwood, Director of Parks & Recreation The meeting was called to order at 5:40 P.M. A motion was made by Councilman Olsen and seconded by Councilman Groner to approve the minutes of the August 20, 2003 Finance Committee meeting. The motion was approved unanimously. Mr. Mays and Mr. Brose reviewed the Department of Transportation budget division by division. During the Transit Division discussion Tom Hood reviewed a request made to the City to pick up some additional routes that had previously been assumed by OATS. Given the lack of adequate financial resources, Mr. Hood stated that the City would not be in a position to favorably respond to such a request. Next Mr. Mays, along with Pat Sullivan and Charlie Lansford, reviewed the proposed reorganization of the Community Development Department and then discussed its impact on the various operating divisions. The final item on the agenda was Other Business and Councilman Angle brought up the issue of Bad Checks and the charge the City levies on them. Councilman Angle requested that staff determine if an ordinance currently exists creating the $10 charge and can we levy a new charge of $25 on all bad checks. Staff will research and respond at the next meeting. Councilman Berry left the meeting around 8:00 P.M. which meant that a quorum was no longer present. That being the case no formal motion could be made to adjourn, so Councilman Angle simply announced the committee meeting was adjourned at 9:55 P.M.
