The meeting was called to order by Finance Committee Chairman Kevin Brown at 5:30 P.M.
The first item of business was the approval of the Finance Committee meeting minutes of April 18, 2005. A motion
for approval was made by Councilman Crane and seconded by Councilman Martin. The minutes were approved 6-0.
The next item for discussion was the personnel reclassifications that are pending on the Council Agenda as well as
reclassifications in general. Chairman Brown expressed a few of his thoughts regarding the material submitted to
councilmen to support these reclassifications and whether or not certain standards should be established in general. In
addition, the appropriate time and place to discuss this personnel material was discussed. Each councilman expressed
their thoughts on the process.
The upcoming budget process was discussed in general and City Administrator Rich Mays stated that one of the
largest items in the budget is the Personnel cost and that the next Finance Committee meeting scheduled for May 4,
2005 will feature an in-depth review of the benefits package for City employees.
There being no further business, the meeting ended at 6:25 P.M.
