The meeting was called to order by Finance Committee Chairman Kevin Brown at 5:55 P.M.
The first item on the agenda was the approval of the minutes from the Thursday, April 28, 2005 Finance Committee
meeting. A motion to approve was made by Councilman Schnitzler, seconded by Councilman Ferguson. The minutes
were approved 7-0.
The next item was a discussion about the City Pay & Classification Plan. City Administrator Rich Mays reviewed the
various funds used to pay the City-wide structure. The pay structure criteria used to establish the pay range was
discussed in detail. Mr. Mays included a review of the Condrey Study which was used to create the current pay
structure. A number of questions were directed at the process as well as the salary ratios.
The next item on the agenda was a presentation on the Employee Benefits package by the Human Resources Director,
Gail Strope. Mrs. Strope used a series of slides to present all of the various benefits for City employees. A number of
questions were asked about the various benefits.
Chairman Brown suggested that additional informational meetings such as this one might be a good way to prepare
for the upcoming budget process. All agreed and Chairman Brown stated that he will call another meeting at a date to
be determined.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:12 P.M.
