A RESOLUTION: AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2020 CAPITAL ASSET
REPLACEMENT PROGRAM BUDGET AND MAKING A
SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION OF $45,000 FOR THE
REPLACEMENT OF A POLICE CRUISER IN THE LEESBURG
POLICE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, a Town of Leesburg Police Officer was involved in an vehicular accident
while responding to a high priority service call; and
WHEREAS, a loss claim was filed with the Town's liability insurance entity which is
Virginia Risk Sharing Association (VRSA); and
WHEREAS, VRSA deemed the 2014 Police Interceptor sedan a total loss, and granted the
Town $7,452 in funding toward replacement; and
WHEREAS, Police Interceptor sedans are no longer in production, and the resulting
replacement with a Police Interceptor sports utility platform has a total projected cost for purchase
and outfitting for operational service is $45,000.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that the
Capital Asset Replacement Program within the Capital Projects Fund is hereby amended through
a transfer from the Fiscal Year 2019 General Fund unassigned fund balance, and a supplemental
appropriation is made in the amount of $45,000 to the Capital Asset Replacement Program for
fiscal year beginning July 1, 2019 and ending June 30, 2020.
