A RESOLUTION: AWARDING A CONTRACT TO LIFE FITNESS IN THE AMOUNT OF
$130,807.09 FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF CARDIOVASCULAR
EQUIPMENT AT IDA LEE PARK RECREATION CENTER
WHEREAS, the Town of Leesburg ("the Town") owns and operates the Ida Lee Park
Recreation Center; and
WHEREAS, the current cardiovascular equipment at the Ida Lee Park Recreation Center
has exceeded its lifespan and is showing signs of failure; and
WHEREAS, the purchase of replacement cardiovascular equipment at the Ida Lee Park
Recreation Center is funded through the Capital Asset Replacement Program within the approved
Fiscal Year 2020 Budget, and no additional funding is needed; and
WHEREAS, The Town of Leesburg is utilizing the approved Sourcewell contract
(formally known as National Joint Purchasing Agreement) for the equipment purchase through
Life Fitness; and
WHEREAS, the contracted amount of $130,807.09 is for the purchase and delivery of 14
Life Fitness Treadmills, one Life Fitness Power Mill and one SciFit Total Body machine; and
WHEREAS, procurement policy requires that purchases in excess of $100,000 must be
approved by Town Council.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:
The Town Manager is authorized to execute a contract in a format approved by the Town
Attorney for the purchase of cardiovascular equipment with Life Fitness in the amount of
$130,807.09 to be utilized at the Ida Lee Park Recreation Center.
